There is an hour -long discussion in the Lok Sabha for the approval of the President’s rule in Manipur




New Delhi:

There will be an hour -long discussion on the statutory resolution of the Lok Sabha to approve the announcement of the President’s rule in Manipur.

The decision was taken on Monday in a meeting of the Lok Sabha Business Advisory Committee (BAC) under the chairmanship of Chairman Om Birla.

The Lok Sabha will discuss the Manipur budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitarman from Tuesday.

Discussion on the Manipur budget has been clubbed with a debate on the second batch of supplementary demands for the grant for 2024-25 and the demand for additional grant for 2021-22 has been allotted and six hours for it.

The BAC also decided to cancel Holi’s account on 13 March. It has been recommended that the Lok Sabha sit on Saturday, March 29 to compensate to sit on 13 March.

It has allocated 10 hours to discuss the railways and one day to debate every water power, and the demand for grant of ministries of agriculture and welfare of farmers.

The BAC has also allocated eight hours to discuss the Finance Bill.

The committee has authorized the speaker to select two more ministries for discussion and voted on demands for housing and urban affairs, social justice and empowerment, external matters and defense.
