The company is not happy with this action and will challenge this decision of tax authorities in the court.

In a regulatory filing, the company said that the Joint Commissioner of Central GST, Pune -II Commissionerates ruled that the instrument cluster for the time period between July 2017 and March 2022 should have been classified under HSN Code 8708/8714 . However, Bajaj Auto HSN was using Code 9029.

Total fine 10,04,16,402 rupees
This is the reason that the Tax Authority has ordered the company to pay a difference of Rs 10,03,91,402. This amount has been adjusted according to the tax already paid by the company. Apart from this, the company has been imposed an interest and penalty of Rs 10,03,91,402. Also, a general fine of Rs 25,000 has also been imposed on the company. In this way, the total fine imposed on Bajaj Auto has been Rs 10,04,16,402.

The company will challenge the decision
The company said, “It believes that the order passed by the Joint Commissioner is not correct and it is also out of his jurisdiction. In addition, there is also a violation of the writ petition filed by the company against the order reasons passed by the Joint Commissioner, which is already pending in the Bombay High Court. ”The company believes that they have a lot of strong case, Bajaj Auto said that Bajaj Auto said That “appropriate legal action will be initiated” against the said order, and this fine will not have any special financial impact on the company’s business.
