Chamoli. A major landslide occurred on Wednesday near Patalganga and Tangdi on Badrinath National Highway. The road has been blocked due to landslides. As soon as the horrifying pictures of the landslide emerged, an atmosphere of panic was seen all around. During this time, no vehicle was passing through the highway due to which a major accident was averted. After continuous rains in Chamoli, the process of breaking mountains has also started. On Tuesday, a big mountain broke near Jogi Dhara and on Wednesday, half of the mountain broke and fell on the road near Patalganga.
However, traffic has started on Badrinath National Highway near Chamoli Patalganga. After opening the route, people stranded on the way heaved a sigh of relief. However, the road near Jogidhara is still blocked. Badrinath National Highway is blocked for about 40 hours. The work of removing debris from the road is also going on near Jogi Dhara. On Tuesday, half of the mountain broke and came on the road.
Badrinath National Highway is closed near Jogi Dhara for the last 40 hours. In such a situation, Joshimath Vyapar Sabha, Indian Army Hydroelectric Project, NTPC and local administration came forward to help the passengers. Arrangements for food were made to the pilgrims by setting up a Bhandara. Even at night, food is being provided to all the passengers by the Vyapar Sabha, which is providing relief to the passengers. Earlier, travelers had alleged that double money was being taken from hotel owners and hoteliers in Joshimath Nagar.
