“Trying to change India”Indian”Kamal Haasan echoed MK Stalin’s 2019 Jab

Chennai:

Actor-royalty’s Kamal Haasan on Wednesday participated in the ‘Hindi imposition’ and delimitation between the DMK and the BJP-led Center, accusing the latter of trying to “change India in India”, forcing non-Hindi-speaking states to accept the language.

He said, “The Center is trying to win all the states with Hindi and win the election with majority. Our dream is ‘India’ … His ‘Hindia’ is,” He said in a meeting of Tamil parties that it was met this morning, after which a resolution on ‘Hindi imposition’ and a resolution on delimitation was sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In 2019, Mr. Stalin said that ‘Hindia’ reference was a sign on the social media post of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Mr. Shah said that Hindi “is a language marking (India’s) identity is globally”, DMK Boss returned, “This is India, not Indians”.

Kamal Haasan has been vocal, as many Tamil politicians, who were about Hindi concerns in the southern states. The long-lasting line, due to which in the 1960s (even before an assembly election), the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan erupted again last month-that the Center would withdraw money if its three-language policy was not implemented.

Mr. Stalin then wrote PM Modi to complain of “blackmail”, and his deputy and son, Udhayanidhi Stalin gave many sharp warnings – that Tamil Nadu is ready for another ‘language war’.

Kamal Haasan resonated those warnings last week; “Tamil people have lost their lives for a language. Don’t play with it …” He said at the meeting of his Makkal Needi Mayam cadre in Chennai.

In his speech, Kamal Haasan also demanded a freeze on delimitation, or resumed the boundaries of parliamentary constituencies based on existing population levels.

But Tamil Nadu and other southern states fears that it will leave them with fewer MPs; Their fear is a population -based delimitation that will mean more seats for the northern states – especially Hindi -speaking areas are seen as BJP strongholds – which have not even controlled their population.

Instead, Kamal Haasan argued, the center should increase – in proportion to the population – the number of MLAs allotted to each state. This demand has been seen as Tamil Nadu, which is currently 234 – will vote in an assembly election next year.

On the threat of delimitation, he asked, “Why do you (BJP) want to keep something that is not broken? There is no need to send a working democracy in the garage so many times.”

Kamal Haasan also said that he feared that Tamil Nadu would be affected “whatever method is delimited” and only non-Hindi-speaking states will be affected, affecting the country’s federal structure negatively, an allegation was also made by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.

Actor was speaking at a meeting of Tamil political parties under the leadership of Mr. Stalin.

The parties presented a joint resolution to Mr. Modi, requesting assurance that a delimitation practice, if done now, would be based on the level of the 1971 population and then will be maintained for other 30 years to encourage other states so that the population was equally successful in controlling the population.

Facing the rapidly excited southern states, Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanded assurance last week, announcing that Tamil Nadu and other MPs would not lose seats.

In fact, he said, he will get more seats. But Mr. Stalin has stated that this does not mean that seats will not be extended for the northern states, which is the second half of the problem because it sees it.
