The UGC has approved the SOP for offering a quick degree program (ADP) and extended degree program (EDP) at a meeting this week. The draft criteria will now be placed in a public domain for response from stakeholders.
While a self-contained note in degrees would mention that the essential educational requirements required in a standard period are met in a short or extended period, they will be considered equal to the degree of standard period for educational and recruitment purposes.
“Students can use this option to shorten or increase their study duration based on their learning abilities. ADP students can complete three years or four years degree in a short time by earning additional credits per semester per semester per semester per semester. The EDP enables an extended timeline, while the EDP enables.
“Under ADP and EDP, students earn total total credit as standard-term programs. Higher Education Institutes will establish committees to evaluate the eligibility of students for these programs. The degree will be equal to the purpose, “he said.

According to the SOP, the institutes can determine up to 10% of the approved intake for ADP. HEI can constitute a committee under EDP and ADP to check applications received at the first or second semester and to select students accordingly.
In ADP, students will follow the same course material and total credit for the program for a standard period.
“There will be only change in the duration of the program. Students will have the option to choose ADP at the end of the first semester or second semester and not beyond that. Students selecting ADP will earn additional credits when the semester starts. The second or third semester From, it depends on when they move to ADP, “Kumar said.
He said, “If they join ADP after the first semester, they will start earning additional credits from the second semester. Similarly, if they join ADP after the second semester, additional credit load third semester Will start from. ” ,
In a three-year or four-year graduate program, the period can be extended to a maximum of two semester.
He said, “Accordingly, students can earn low credit in each semester. Based on credit structure and credit framework for graduate programs in the course, the committee will decide how many credit to a student in a semester in EDP Will be. “
The Commission has noted that HEI students can release the degree on completion of the program in the selected period (shorter or extended period) and do not need to wait for the standard period to provide a formal degree.
“For quick and expanded degrees, a self-contained notes should be added to the degree that said that the essential educational requirements required in the standard period have been met in a short or extended period.” The four-year graduate program for the ADP of the program ADP for ADP Kumar said, “It should be specified in the note that the student has met the academic requirements of the four -year program in six or seven semesters, whatever the case.”
