The only nationwide assessment of drug use in the US is an important tool in fighting Opioid epidemic

On 1 April, the US government suddenly kept all the 17 people running the country’s only nationwide survey on the use of matter and mental health. For more than half a century, the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) has tracked these issues throughout the US, which helps to inform doctors, researchers and policy-makers. Its future is now uncertain, because it is not clear who – if anyone – will handle the work.
