Ottawa:
Defense Minister Bill Blair said on Thursday that Canada is ready for the proposed development of US President Donald Trump’s “Iron Dome” missile defense shield.
Blair stated in a call with reporters at the end of the visit to Washington that Canada was already a “essential partner” in the joint protection of North America through NATO and Norad Joint Air Defense Program.
“Clearly, an integrated missile defense system for all of North America is the thing that makes everyone understand,” he said, instead of staying on the US-Canada border.
“And we are able to display that we are a ready and interested partner, and that we have a lot to contribute to the alliance.”
Trump signed an executive order to launch a plan for the United States of the United States last week to launch a plan for the air defense system, such as Israel used to prevent thousands of rockets.
He ordered an implementation plan for the “next generation missile defense shield” designed for guards against ballistic, hypersonic and advanced cruise missiles through the development of space-based interceptors within two months.
This proposal has inspired criticism at its expected cost, and for the fact that the system has been designed for short distance hazards, which has made it sick to protect against intercontinental missiles which in the United States of the United States The main danger is for.
Increasing US-Canada military cooperation leads to Blair’s comments as countries have to face deep strains to put standing tariffs on Trump’s dangers.
