What Odisha told her mother before protecting Israeli tourist

A family member said that 29 -year -old Odisha man, who was protecting two women from sexual harassment of two women in Kopal district of Karnataka, promised to meet his mother in Agra on March 10.

HR manager Bibhas Nayak at St. Stephen Hospital in New Delhi promised two days before his death in Kopal. Mr. Nayak was thrown into a canal protecting two women on 6 March – one of which was 27 -year -old Israeli National – from a sexual attack.

Mr. Nayak befriended several other tourists in Karnataka, including an Israeli woman, a man from America, a female homestay operator and a man from Maharashtra.

He was doing Stargaging from a canal in Hampi at night when three people contacted him. Mr. Nayak stepped into the safety of women.

However, the attackers overcame him and threw him into the canal. Mr. Nayak drowned, but his two male friends managed to escape.

Mr. Nayak attended Stewart School in Bhubaneswar before transferring to Chennai to pursue higher education. He graduated from Madras Christian College with BBA and then earned an MBA from Mumbai.

The family and neighbor came together on Sunday to mourn at their funeral in Udayagiri city of Kandmal. “We can only pray that such crimes should never happen again,” said Mr. Nayak’s brother -in -law.
