WhatsApp Said to Be Testing Events Scheduling Feature in Individual Chats

WhatsApp will probably offer the convenience of its events for personal chat soon. The Messaging platform owned by the meta brought the facility to WhatsApp communities for the first time in May 2024. The report now states that the company is testing functionality in personal chats for both Android and iOS users. It may roll for global users in the coming days. Previously, the platform was testing a feature that would allow users to add music to their status updates, similar to another meta-owned social media site on Instagram.

Android, IOS users feature events in individual WhatsApp chats

Whatsapp is testing a feature that will help users to create and share events in personal chat, according to a WABetaInfo ReportCurrently, this feature is supported only in group chats and communities. This feature is currently being tested with Android (version 2.25.3.6) and both on the beta users. IOS (Version 25.2.10.73).

Some beta examiners have already got the event scheduling facility, and it is gradually rolling to more users, the report states. This can roll out for regular users in the coming months. Previously, users had to create two-individual groups as a workaround to schedule events, but with this update, they will be able to organize any necessary program on their personal chat.

The new feature allows WhatsApp users to schedule and manage direct events within private conversations. The report said that it reduces the need for back-end-for messaging by colliding all the necessary information in the same message.

WhatsApp users can use the convenience of phenomena for individual as well as professional purposes, including planning contingent meat, booking a doctor’s appointments, organizing business counseling and setting payment reminder. Users can specify the location for in-pursen meetings or attach audio/video call links for virtual interaction when creating an event. The recipients have the option to accept or reject invitation.
