Apple Inc. The upheaval in the AI division reached new heights on Friday, delaying updating Siri Digital Assistant for the future of the future.
Apple stated that the features offered in the last June, including Siri’s ability to tap in personal information of the user, will be released in “The Coming Year” in “The Coming Year” to answer the questions and on the apps. The iPhone manufacturer did not set a public time frame for the first capabilities, but was initially planned for the iOS 18.4 software update in this April.
Bloomberg News reported on 14 February that Apple was struggling to develop the facilities and enhancement would be postponed by at least May – when iOS 18.5 is coming. Since then, Apple Engineer has been running to fix the grain of Bugs in the project. According to those involved in the efforts, the work has been unsuccessful, and now they believe that the facilities will not be released until next year.
Under the latest delay, software major Craig Federighi and other officials voiced the internal strong concerns that the features did not work properly-or as was advertised-in their personal trial, people said, who did not say to discuss internal affairs. A spokesman for Apple refused to comment.
Some people in Apple’s AI Division believe that the work on facilities can be completely scored, and that Apple may have to rebuild tasks from scratches. The capabilities will be delayed until the next generation Siri is expected to roll out in 2026.
The company first performed characteristics in last June during its Worldwide Developers Conference, which was part of the unveiling of the Apple Intelligence AI platform. In this annual program this year, Apple is not planning to show any big AI successes. Instead, it will focus on integrating Apple Intelligence in more apps.
Delay – Particularly declared features – are embarrassing for Apple and add more evidence to the idea that the company is struggling in artificial intelligence. They also threaten to return work on future reforms.
Apple was planning to make Siri more chat-Like and condensed next year. But now only the initial underpinning for that upgrade is expected to be prepared by 2026 during the release cycle. The real interface that is likely to experience users will not reach iOS 20 in 2027, people said.
Bloomberg News stated early this week that Apple employees are questioning whether Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook or the company’s board needs to take action to change the leadership of the AI group. They believe that, lack of major changes, Apple keeps behind. Earlier this year, the company exploited experienced software leader Kim Vorty to help the team.
The delay marks a particularly public shock for Apple as the company is not yet advertising facilities prepared in TV advertisements for about six months. When the company started the final decline on the iPhone 16, it sold the customers on the idea that the device was “built for the ground for Apple Intelligence.” Now, the main features for that experience may not be available until months after the iPhone 17 debut.
In anticipation of customer frustration, the company on Friday sent guidance to its Applecare aid representatives. “If customers ask about the time of these Siri features, repeat that we guess them to roll them in the coming year,” the Memo said.
There are also concerns that will require to run a more powerful AI model on Apple’s devices to fix the Siri. It can stress hardware, which means that Apple must either reduce the set of its features or the model will have to run more slowly on the current or old devices. This will also require to increase the hardware capabilities of future products so that the facilities can be run with full force.
Just to provide some visual references on disconnects between apple marketing and reality of Apple AI. This TV advertisement for Apple Intelligence was released 5 months ago. It can still not do what is shown here. https://t.co/UC2QMAVPE

Siri found some refinement as part of the rollout of iOS18, including an integration and a text-based option called Type to Siri with OpenaiI’s chatgate chatbot. It also includes apple product knowledge and a new bright interface, but they do not represent the changes in the underlying technology.
At a slow pace Apple is threatened with Amazon.com Inc. in the Voice Assistant Market. This company will start rolling its much awaited Alexa+ this month. Samsung Electronics Company and Alphabet Inc.’s Google have also manufactured AI in their equipment.
