Women Samriddhi Yojana: How to apply for IN 2,500 monthly assistance in Delhi – CNBC TV18


The Delhi government has launched Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, providing 2,500 per month for economically weaker women in the city. According to a report by news agency IANS, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari announced that registrations would start from March 8, 2025 and the eligible beneficiaries will start receiving funds directly in their bank accounts within a month.

The purpose of women’s prosperity scheme

The scheme aims to financially empower women from the economically weaker sections (EWS), which helps them to meet the expenses essentially.

The Delhi government will directly transfer assistance to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through direct benefits transfer (DBT).

eligibility criteria

To qualify for the plan, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Become a female citizen of India.
  • Become a permanent resident of Delhi.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • There is an active bank account for fund transfer.

Documents required for registration

  • Applicants must provide the following documents:
  • Aadhar card (for identity verification)
  • Ration card (to prove economic status)
  • Evidence of address (eg voter ID or electricity bill)
  • Registered mobile number (for OTP verification and update)

How to apply for women’s prosperity scheme

Eligible women can register online by following these steps:

  • Visit the official website of Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.
  • Click “Register” to start the application process.
  • Fill the required details including name, Aadhaar number and bank account details.
  • Upload required documents, such as Aadhaar card, address proof and ration card.
  • Click “Submit” to complete the registration process.

Political reactions

BJP leaders urged the opposition parties to support the initiative, while the AAP has criticized the BJP for delay in approval at its first cabinet meeting.

The BJP had earlier assured that the existing free schemes, such as free electricity, water for water and women, will continue with women prosperity scheme.
