Rules for offering Belpatra on Shivalinga:
Belpatra with three leaves should always be offered on Shivalinga.
While offering Belpatra, keep in mind that its leaves should not be cut or torn.
Offering 1, 5, 11 or 21 Bel leaves on Shivalinga gives auspicious results.
In case Belpatra is not available, the Belpatra offered on Shivling can be washed and offered again on Shivling.
Belpatra should not be plucked on Ashtami, Navami, Trayodashi, Chaturdashi, Amavasya and Monday. Avoid breaking Belpatra during the beginning and end of this date.
Before offering Belpatra on Shivalinga, clean it thoroughly with water.
It is very auspicious to offer Belpatra on Shivalinga on the day of Sawan Shivratri, Pradosh and Monday.
