Hariyali Teej 2024: Women will worship Gaur and Ganesha for unbroken good fortune. The Teej celebrated in the month of Sawan is called Hariyali Teej. This year it is falling on 7th August. Hariyali Teej is celebrated on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Saavan month. This time, an auspicious coincidence of Shiva Yoga is taking place on Hariyali Teej. Women have already started preparations for this. Although Hariyali Teej is celebrated mainly by people of Marwari community, now the tradition of this fast has started in other communities also.

Auspicious time of Hariyali Teej: This year, Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Sawan month will start on 06 August at 07:52 PM and will end on the next day i.e. 07 July 2024 at 10:06 PM. Therefore, as per Udayatithi, Hariyali Teej will be celebrated on 7th July.

Shiva Yoga will be constructed: On the day of Hariyali Teej, Shiva Yoga will be formed from 11:41 am till the next day.

Tradition of worshiping idols of Shiva and Parvati made of clay

Married women worship Shiva Parvati for the long life of their husbands. Applying mehndi on hands on this day is considered auspicious. In the evening, she worships Shiva and Parvati made of clay with green bangles, green clothes and sixteen adornments. Chunri, vermilion, bangle, bindi etc. are offered as adornment items to Mother Parvati while Panchamrit is offered to Mahadev and wishes for unbroken good fortune and happy married life. A day before, on 6th August, newlyweds celebrate Sindhara festival, in which they give wedding items to their newlywed daughters-in-law, and with these wedding items, they fast on the next day on Suhagin Teej.
