Effect of solar eclipse on Sarva Pitru Amavasya: According to KC Pandey and Pandit Anil Kaushik, resident of Brajghat, solar eclipse is also taking place from 9.13 pm on October 2. Which will last till 3.17 am. But in India, no sutak will be valid because it is not visible due to night. There will be no negative impact of eclipse in Pitru Shraddha and Tarpan.
When to perform Shraddha: To perform Shraddha, from 12.23 pm to 4.04 pm, Hasta Nakshatra and Brahma Yoga along with Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga will be the best time to give extremely virtuous results. On this day, Panchagras (cow, dog, crow, ant and living soul) must be removed. Shraddha should not be performed after evening.
Do these things after Shraddha: According to Pandit Ramdev Pandey, charity must be done on the day of Sarva Pitru Amavasya. Donation should be done after tarpan on this day. Today one should donate sesame seeds, jaggery, fruits, food, utensils etc. Donation should be given to Brahmins, poor, Dalits and destitutes. This satisfies the ancestors and their happiness leads to increase in wealth, fame and lineage. According to Narada and Vishnu Purana, worshiping ancestors, donating Brahmin food and cow on the new moon day of 12 months is considered extremely virtuous. In the month of Bhadraprad, performing Pitru Shraddha, charity, Homa and worship of Gods gives eternal results.
