Bilv Invitation (08 October 2024): Bilva invitation will be celebrated on 08 October. On this day, the idol of Maa Durga is installed in the pandals by doing Ghatasthapana and on the next three Maha Saptami, Maha Ashtami and Maha Navami, Goddess Durga is duly worshipped.

Kalparambh (09 October 2024) : This year Kalparambh will be celebrated on Thursday, 9th October. It is believed that on the day of Kalparambh, Goddess Bhagwati, Mother Saraswati, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kartikeya come to earth. Goddess Durga is duly worshiped on this day. Kalparambh is worshiped early in the morning. Mother’s eyes remain covered till Shashthi Tithi and on the day of Klaparambh, Mother’s eyes open.

Akal Bodhan (09 October 2024): Akal Bodhan will also be celebrated on 09 October. Gods and Goddesses are in sleep during Dakshinayan period. According to the Hindu calendar, the Durga festival falls in the middle of the year during the Dakshinayan period. Therefore the Goddess is awakened through Bodhan. In the tradition of Bodhan, a Kalash filled with water is kept under the Bilva tree. After this, prayers are offered to Goddess Durga to wake up from sleep.

Navpatrika Puja (10 October 2024): Navpatrika Puja is on 10th October 2024. During this time, Goddess Durga is invoked with 9 types of leaves including banana leaf, turmeric, Daru Haldi, Jayanti, Bilvapatra, Pomegranate, Ashoka, rice and Amaltas. In this puja, 9 different types of leaves are considered to be the symbol of 9 forms of Maa Durga.

Durga Ashtami (11 October 2024):Durga Ashtami, Mahagauri Puja, Sandhi Puja and Mahanavami are on 11th October. Sandhi Puja continues on both Ashtami and Navami tithi. In Sandhi Puja, the last 24 minutes of the end of Ashtami and the first 24 minutes of the beginning of Navami is called Sandhikshan. On the day of Durga Ashmatami, Shodashopachar puja of Goddess Durga is performed and nine forms of the goddess are worshipped.

Sindoor Khela and idol immersion (12 October 2024): Both Navami and Dashami dates are on 12th October. Navratri fast will be broken on this day. The idol of Maa Durga will be immersed and Dussehra will be celebrated. Sindu Khela festival is celebrated on the last day of Durga Puja. On this day, women offer vermilion to Maa Durga and also apply vermilion to each other.
