Shardiya Navratri 2024: Today is the third day of Shardiya Navratri on 5 October 2024. This day is considered dedicated to the worship of Chandraghanta Mata, the third form of Goddess Durga. Chandraghanta Maa has 10 hands and her vehicle is a lion. Kamandal, lotus, mace, trident, arrow, bow, sword and sword are present in the hands of the mother. Wearing a garland of white flowers, a crown studded with gems sits on the mother’s head. There is a religious belief that Mother Chandraghanta is the married form of Goddess Parvati. After marriage with Lord Bholenath, she started decorating the half moon on her forehead. Therefore this form of Goddess Durga is called Maa Chandraghanta.
