‘Chhawa’ becomes the top -grossing Hindi film of the year with the inauguration of Rs 164.75 crore.


Vicky Kaushal and Rashamika Mandanna-Starr Historic ‘Chhawa’ has become the highest grossing Hindi film this year by earning Rs 164.75 crore at the world’s box office in its early weekends. The film has crossed the collection of Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Skyforce’, which was more than Rs 140 crore worldwide in the first three days of release last month.

According to trade tracking website Sacnilk, the total global box office collection of the film is Rs 164.75 crore. The gross India collection of the film is Rs 139.75 crore and its net earning is Rs 116.50 crore. The film was made abroad more than Rs 25 crore.

The ‘Mimi’ fame released on the big screen on 14 February directed by Laxman YouTech of ‘Chhawa’. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan of Madock Films.

The period drama is based on the life of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, which is essayed by Kushal. Mandanna plays the role of his wife, Yasubai.

“Chhawa ‘marked another cooperation for Kaushal and YouTekar, who has previously worked on the romantic comedy’ Zara Hatke Zara Bakke ‘(2023) contrary to Sara Ali Khan.”
