Sawan 2024 Ujjain Temple : The month of Sawan is considered to be the favorite month of Lord Bholenath. During this time, devotees of Lord Shiva go to Mahakal temple of Ujjain for darshan. The temple of Baba Mahakal is established in Ujjain, a city situated on the banks of Shipra river. Therefore this city is also called the city of Mahakal. Mahakal Temple is one of the most popular Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Mahadev, the Lord of Gods. It is considered the most sacred temple of Shiva. There is a gathering of devotees in the Mahakal temple in the month of Sawan-Bhadau. Lakhs of devotees come to visit Mahakal in this month. Therefore, even before the beginning of the month of Sawan, preparations have started in the Mahakal temple of Ujjain. Let us tell you that this year the month of Sawan will start from 22 July 2024 and will end on 19 August 2024.
Keeping in mind the crowd of lakhs of devotees arriving in Ujjain, the city of Mahakal, some important decisions have been taken by the temple committee.
- Keeping in mind the security, convenience and arrangement in the temple, devotees will not be allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum.
- There will be no online booking for Bhasma Aarti on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
- Apart from this, changes will also be made in the timing of Bhasma Aarti.
Timing of Bhasma Aarti in Sawan: In Mahakaleshwar temple on normal days the doors of the temple open at 4 in the morning. At the same time, the timing of Bhasma Aarti has been changed in the month of Sawan. Let us tell you that from July 22, 2024 to September 2, 2024, the doors will open at 3 am. Doors will open every Monday at 2:30. Doors will open at 3 pm on Tuesday and Saturday. At the same time, Bhasma Aarti will be held daily from 3 am to 5 am.
Will not be allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum: Devotees will not be allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum during the month of Sawan. At the same time, media persons, priests and priests will be given entry from gate number 4. The temple committee has expressed hope of more than 3 lakh devotees visiting the Mahakal temple.
