The Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Bhushan Gagrani, on Tuesday presented his budget for the financial year 2025-26, a total outya of Rs 74,427 crore is proposed. This increases the growth of 14.19% from the previous year’s budget estimate by Rs 65,180 crore.
The budget states that four new CBSE board schools were established in 2024-25, bringing a total of 21 schools including ICSE, IGCSE and IB board schools.
Welfare schemes and projects for 2025-26 include free distribution of scolastic materials, which has a budget provision of Rs 140 crore for primary and Rs 35 crore for secondary education.
It also includes the attendance allowance scheme of girls, including Rs 7.16 crore for primary and Rs 39 lakh for secondary education. There are also scholarship for this Divyang (Disabled) Students with a budget provision of Rs 25 lakh.
