India-China Border Dispute: During the long-running tension between India and China, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has expressed his desire to work with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The Chinese Foreign Minister has talked about fixing the issues related to the ground situation in the border areas in Eastern Ladakh. Along with this, Ajit Doval has again been congratulated on his re-appointment as India’s National Security Advisor and Special Representative for the India-China border question. Wang Yi said, the relationship between China and India goes beyond bilateral boundaries and promotes global significance.

Apart from being the Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi is also the special representative from the Chinese side of the India-China border dialogue mechanism. Apart from this, Wang Yi is also a member of the Political Bureau of the ruling Communist Party of China. While giving a congratulatory message to Ajit Doval, Wang wrote, ‘China and India, both the most populous countries in the world, are emerging economies of the world. The relations between China and India go beyond bilateral boundaries and have global significance.

Wang Yi and S Jaishankar met in Kazakhstan
According to China’s official news Xinhua, Wang said that he is ready to join hands with Doval to implement the important agreements made by the two countries and to properly handle land-related issues in the border areas. So that peace and harmony can be maintained in the border areas. Wang Yi recently met Foreign Minister S Jaishankar at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in Astana, Kazakhstan, after which he made such a statement. For the first time after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister for the third time, the top leaders of China and India met in Kazakhstan.

Bilateral mechanism has been created for border dispute
Actually, there is a 3488 km long disputed border between India and China. A Special Representative Mechanism was created in 2003 to address issues related to border disputes. It is led by the National Security Advisor from the Indian side and the Foreign Minister from the Chinese side. 19 meetings of this mechanism have been held in the last years, analysts believe that it is a very useful and promising bilateral mechanism. However, the border dispute with China has not ended yet. After the violent clash in Galwan Valley on 5 May 2020, relations between the two countries have reached a low point.
