Google Apple Media Transfer
Google and Apple have ended the major tension of crores of smartphone users. Now if any user wants to switch from Android to iPhone or from iPhone to Android, then they will not face any problem in transferring their photos and videos from one device to another. Google and Apple are going to jointly develop an app which will help in seamless file transfer. For this, users will get the option to transfer the library from Google Takeout to iCloud Photos and from iCloud to Google Photos.
New open source tool will come
Data Transfer Initiative Tech firm said in its blog post that an open source tool is being developed, which will be able to easily transfer data from one device to another. For this, Google and Apple together are going to launch Open Source Data Transfer Project (DTP). This tool can be rolled out in the coming few weeks.
File will be transferred easily
Some information related to this data transfer tool has also been shared on the forums of Apple and Google. According to the reports, this tool can easily transfer files from Google Photos to iCloud Photos. At the same time, Apple users will be able to share their data from iCloud Photos to Android devices through Google takeout. For this the user will have to give media visibility permission in Google.
iPhone users will get the option of Import From Google in the Photos app. By going to this option, users will be able to transfer datewise photos and videos. However, photos and videos may take a few hours to transfer. Once the data transfer is complete, users will receive confirmation via e-mail.
This new tool gives users the freedom to transfer photos and videos only. In this, motion photos, live photos and memories etc. cannot be transferred. Apart from this, only photos or videos in JPEG, HEIC or PNG, MP4 and MOV formats can be transferred. Photos and videos that cannot be transferred to iCloud Photos will be shifted to iCloud Drive.
