Dussehra 2024 Ravan Dahan Timing: There is a lot of enthusiasm across the country today regarding the festival of Dussehra. Dussehra i.e. Vijayadashami is celebrated every year with great pomp and joy in some cities of India. Vijayadashami is considered a symbol of the victory of religion over unrighteousness. According to religious beliefs, on the day of Dussehra, Lord Shri Ram had killed Lankapati Ravana and freed Mother Sita from the clutches of Ravana. At the same time, Goddess Durga had killed the tyrannical demon Mahishasura after nine consecutive days of war. Ravana Dahan is performed every year on the day of Dussehra. This year, since Dashami Tithi lasts for two days, Dussehra is being celebrated not only on October 12 but also on October 13. Ayodhya : On the day of Dussehra, all spiritual programs including Ravana Dahan Ramlila are organized in Ayodhya.

Lucknow : In Lucknow, a grand event of Ravana Dahan is organized at Ramlila Maidan in Aishbagh and Jankipuram Ramlila Maidan.

Patna : Ravana Dahan program is organized at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.

Noida : Ravana Dahan is also organized with great pomp in Noida. Here a large number of people come to Noida Stadium or Noida Sector 62 to watch Ravana Dahan.

Delhi : Dussehra festival is organized grandly in the country’s capital Delhi. Big effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhkaran are burnt here.
