Responding to a question in the Lok Sabha, the minister said that the government launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana in August 2014 to provide universal banking services for “every Angbong Household”.
To give more encouragement for the government’s financial inclusion initiative, PMJDY was extended beyond August 14, 2018, and the attention was shifted to “every anbaked adult”.
