Kojagiri Puja 2024: The day of Kojagari Puja is considered dedicated to the worship of Goddess Lakshmi. This festival is mainly celebrated in Orissa, West Bengal and Assam on the day of Ashwin Purnima. According to Drik Panchang, Kojagari Puja is on 16 October this year. This day is also called Kojagari Purnima or Sharad Purnima. There is a religious belief that by worshiping Goddess Lakshmi as per the rituals on the day of Kojagari Purnima, the devotee gets relief from financial problems. When is Kojagari Purnima?
According to Drik Panchang, the full moon date of Ashwin month will start on October 16 at 08:40 PM and will end on October 17, 2024 at 04:55 PM. Whereas, Sharad Purnima or Kojagari Puja will be celebrated on 16th October.
Muhurta of Kojagari Puja: On this day, Nishita Kaal Muhurta of Kojagari Puja will be from 11:42 pm to 12:32 pm on 16th October.
Time of moonrise: Moonrise will occur at 05:05 pm on the day of Kojagari Puja.
Method of Kojagari Puja:
On the day of Kojagari Puja, wake up in the morning before sunrise, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this, put red flowers, water and Akshat in a copper pot and offer water to the Sun God. To worship Goddess Lakshmi, spread a red cloth on a small platform and install the idol of Goddess Lakshmi on it. After this, offer fruits, red flowers, vermillion, kumkum, akshat, roli and kheer to Goddess Lakshmi. Offer cloves, cardamom, a betel nut and batasha to Mata Rani. After this, worship them duly and chant mantras and perform the aarti of Goddess Lakshmi. After moonrise in the evening, offer water arghya and worship Chandradev.
