Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday stressed the importance of national unity and diversity and urged participants in the Republic Day parade to interact with people from different states to strengthen the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.
According to an official statement, Modi made the remarks at his residence during his interaction with NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, tribal guests and tableau artistes who will be part of the parade.
It said the talks were followed by vibrant cultural performances showcasing India’s rich culture and diversity.
He said such talks promote understanding and unity, which is important for the progress of the country.
The statement said Modi, in a departure from the past, interacted with the participants in an innovative manner, engaging with them in an informal, free-flowing conversation.
It said, “The Prime Minister stressed that fulfilling one’s duties as a responsible citizen is the key to achieving the vision of a developed India. He called upon all to remain united and strengthen the nation through collective efforts.” Urged to remain committed.”
He encouraged the youth to register on My Bharat portal and actively engage in activities that contribute to nation building.
He also spoke about the importance of adopting good habits like discipline, punctuality and waking up early in the morning and encouraged diary writing.
According to the statement, Modi discussed some of the key initiatives of the government that are helping in improving the lives of people.
He highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering women through the initiative to create three crore ‘Lakhpati Didis’. According to the statement, one participant shared the story of his mother who benefited from the scheme, which enabled the export of her products.
Modi also highlighted how India’s affordable data rates have transformed connectivity and driven the ‘Digital India’ programme, helping people stay connected and expanding opportunities.
Discussing the importance of cleanliness, Modi said that if 140 crore Indians pledge to maintain cleanliness, India will always remain ‘clean’.
He talked about the importance of the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ initiative and urged everyone to plant a tree as a dedication to their mothers.
He discussed the ‘Fit India Movement’ and asked everyone to take out time to do yoga and focus on fitness and wellness, which is essential for a strong and healthy nation.
According to the statement, Modi also interacted with the foreign participants, who expressed happiness at attending the event, praised India’s hospitality and shared positive experiences of their visits.
