Navratri Kalash Sthapna Muhurta: Shardiya Navratri is starting on 3rd October. On the first day of Shardiya Navratri, there is a tradition of installing Ghatasthapana and Kalash before worshiping Goddess Durga. Kalash should always be established at an auspicious time and according to the correct method. Learn from Pandit ji the auspicious time and easy method for Ghatasthapana and Kalash establishment-

Auspicious time for establishing Kalash: Pandit Tarun Jha told that Kalash can be established till 03 o’clock on the day, but the most special Muhurat is from 06.07 to 07.37 in the morning and from 10.05 in the morning to 03 in the afternoon is best.

Ghatasthapana auspicious time- Pandit Lalit Sharma told that the auspicious time of Ghatasthapana will be from 6.15 am to 7.22 am. Abhijit Muhurta of Ghatasthapana will be from 11.46 am to 12.33 pm.

Importance of Ghatasthapana

Ghatasthapana has great importance in Navratri. The Kalash is decorated with a lump of turmeric, betel nut, Durva and five types of leaves. Barley is sown by making an altar of sand under the Kalash. Along with this, Durga Saptashati and Durga Chalisa are recited.

Easy method of establishing Kalash

First of all, purify the place of worship with Ganga water. Now make octagons from turmeric. To establish the Kalash, put soil in an earthen vessel and sow barley seeds in it. Now make a Swastika with Roli on an earthen or copper pot. Tie Mauli in the upper part of the pot. Now fill this pot with clean water and add a few drops of Ganga water in it. Now add coin, turmeric, betel nut, Akshat, betel leaves, flowers and cardamom in the water of this Kalash. Then place five types of leaves and cover the urn. After this, wrap the coconut in red chunri and place it on the Kalash. Place the Kalash on the sand altar.

1- Wake up in the morning, take bath and clean the temple.

2- Anoint Goddess Durga with Ganga water.

3- Offer Akshat, red sandalwood, chunari and red flowers to the mother.

4- Perform Jalabhishek of all the Gods and Goddesses and apply fruits, flowers and tilak.

5- Install ghat and kalash.

6- Offer fruits and sweets as Prasad.

7- Light incense sticks and ghee lamp in the home temple.

8- Recite Durga Saptashati and Durga Chalisa

9- Keep camphor and cloves on betel leaf and perform the aarti of Mata.

10- Pray for forgiveness at the end.
