On BSE, 18 out of 21 sectors rose and three declined. BSE Consumer Durables gained the most and BSE Oil & Gas fell the most.
Broader markets outperformed the benchmark indices as BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices closed 1.78% and 0.67% higher, respectively.
The market trend was in favor of buyers as 2,137 shares advanced, 1,825 shares declined and 105 shares remained unchanged on the BSE.
