Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Monday that Uttarakhand has been allocated Rs 4,641 crore in the Railway Budget, which will strengthen the rail network in the state.

Addressing journalists from Uttarakhand and other states, Vaishnav said that an amount of Rs 2.52 lakh crore has been allocated to the Railways in the budget.

He said that Uttarakhand has been allocated Rs 4,641 crore for various railway projects in the budget of 2025-26.

The Union Minister said that at present work is going on on three railway projects of 216 km in the state, which costs Rs 25,941 crore.

Regarding the ambitious Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project being built at a cost of Rs 24,659 crore, he said that 49% of this 125 km project has been completed, while 96% of the 27.5-Kiltor Deoband-Railway railway line has been completed Work is being done. At a cost of Rs 1,053 crore, it is over.

Apart from this, the 63 km kicha-Khatima railway line project will be constructed at a cost of Rs 228 crore, Vaishnav said.

Since the Narendra Modi government came to power at the Center, 69 km of new railway tracks have been kept in Uttarakhand, while 303 km railway lines have been electrified between 2014 and 2025.

Between 2009 and 2014, the figure was zero, the Railway Minister said.

Today, every railway line in the state is electrified, he said.

Eleven railway stations – Dehradun, Haridwar Junction, Harwala, Kashipur Junction, Kathgodam, Kicha, Kotar, Lal Assessment Junction, Ramnagar, Roki and Tanakpur – are being developed as nectar stations in the state at a cost of Rs 147 crore, Vashanav Said. ,

In addition, 100 rail flyover and underbridge have also been constructed in Hill State since 2014, they informed.

Six lifts and 14 escalators have been constructed at stations for passengers and Wi-Fi facility is available for 31 stations. In addition, two Vande Bharat trains are successfully providing services in the state, Vaishnav said.

Describing the budget allotted in the field of expansion of railway connectivity in the state as a ‘milestone’, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this is also special as it is 2,382% more than the budget allotted from 2009 to 2014.
