When does Ganesh Chaturthi start?
According to Drik Panchang, Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month will start at 03:01 PM on 06 September and will end at 05:37 PM the next day on 07 September. Therefore, keeping in mind the Udayatithi, Ganeshotsav will start from 7th September.
Mid-day Ganesh worship time: According to Drik Panchang, the auspicious time for midday Ganesh Puja on this day will be from 11:03 AM to 01:34 PM.
Prohibited moon sighting time: According to Drik Panchang,Chandradarshan will be prohibited from 09:30 AM to 08:45 PM on 07 September. Moon sighting is considered prohibited on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi. It is believed that seeing the moon on this day leads to false accusation or stigma.
Worship method of Ganesh Chaturthi:
Wake up early in the morning on Ganesh Chaturthi. Take a bath and wear clean clothes.
Clean the temple of your house. Spread a red cloth on a stool.
Now install the idol of Lord Ganesha in the east or north direction during the auspicious time.
Install Riddhi-Siddhi with the idol of Lord Ganesha.
Now offer all the worship materials including turmeric, durva, perfume, modak, sandalwood, Akshat to Lord Ganesha.
Show incense sticks to Lord Ganesha and perform aarti of all the gods along with Lord Ganesha.
During the puja, you can chant the seed mantra of Lord Ganesha ‘Om Gan Ganpataye Namah’.
