Devshayani Ekadashi is celebrated on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month. This time it will start from 8:33 pm on 16th July and will continue till 9:02 pm on 17th July. Due to Udayatithi, the seeker will keep fast on 17th only. With this, the Gods will go on rest for four months and all auspicious activities (except Abujha Tithi) will be banned for four months. Many auspicious results are also being created for Dev Shayani Ekadashi. In which worship will be beneficial.

Ban on auspicious works
Chaturmas will start from 17th July. On this day, Dev Shayani Ekadashi, from 17th July till Dev Uthani Ekadashi i.e. 12th November, all the auspicious functions like marriage ceremony, engagement, mundan, naming of the child and house warming etc. will remain closed (except Abujh Murhut). This will start from Dev Uthani Ekadashi only.
This yoga is being formed
Auspicious yoga is being formed till 7.05 am on the day of Devshayani Ekadashi. After this Shukla Yoga will be formed. It will end at 6:13 am on July 18. There will also be Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga on Dev Shayani Ekadashi. Their being together is considered auspicious for meditation and fasting.
Devshayani Ekadashi worship method:
Get up early in the morning and take bath etc.
Light a lamp in the home temple.
Anoint Lord Vishnu with Ganga water.
Offer flowers and basil leaves to Lord Vishnu.
If possible, keep a fast on this day.
Perform Aarti of God.
Offer food to God. Keep in mind that only virtuous things are offered to God. Be sure to include Tulsi in the offerings to Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Lord Vishnu does not accept food without Tulsi.
On this auspicious day, along with Lord Vishnu, also worship Goddess Lakshmi.
Meditate on God as much as possible on this day.
