Ganesh immersion will take place on 17th September and Anant Chaturdashi fast will be observed. Anant Chaturdashi date has special significance in Sanatan Dharma. Today is also Vishwakarma Puja. Due to three festivals falling on the same day, the importance of today has increased considerably. On this day many devotees observe fast and bid farewell to Bappa. It is important to keep some things in mind while immersing Lord Ganesha. Therefore, let us know what should and what not to be done during Ganesh Visarjan today on 17th September-

What not to do on the day of Ganesh Visarjan?

The direction should be kept in mind while carrying the idol of Bappa during Ganesh Visarjan. The face of the Ganpati idol should be towards the house and the back of the idol should be towards the outside of the house. It is said that while carrying the idol of Ganpati, if the back is towards the house then one has to face poverty and the Lord also gets angry. Negative energy is transmitted.

If you are preparing Bhog for Bappa at home on the day of Ganesh Visarjan, then keep in mind that garlic or onion should not be used in the Bhog. Bhog is always offered only of virtuous things.

If you are doing immersion at home, then after immersing the idol, do not throw away the immersion water and soil of the idol. You can put the immersion water in plants and use the soil to grow plants.

One should not consume alcoholic beverages on the day of Ganesh Visarjan. Consuming vindictive food may anger Lord Ganapati.

During Ganesh Visarjan, do not float the idol in water at high speed.

Tulsi leaves should not be offered to Lord Ganesha. Therefore, one should not offer Tulsi leaves even by mistake during the worship of Lord Ganesha.

It is not considered good to consume or taste the food before offering it to Lord Ganesha.

Try not to hurt anyone during Ganesh Visarjan and also avoid arguments. Avoid insulting or making fun of anyone.

According to religious beliefs, black colored clothes should not be worn during any festival or worship. Therefore, avoid wearing black colored clothes on the day of Ganesh Visarjan. To get the immense blessings of the remover of obstacles, it will be auspicious to wear yellow colored clothes on this day.

Prepare Bappa’s bhog only after taking bath.

Before Ganesh immersion, worship Ganapati with devotion.

Keep in mind the auspicious time at the time of puja.

With the same enthusiasm with which you welcomed Ganpati, bid farewell with the same enthusiasm and music.

While immersing the idol, also immerse the material used in the puja.

Pray for forgiveness at the end of the puja.
