Pradosh Vrat September 2024: Shraddha Paksha is going on. During this time, Pradosh fast dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva will also be observed. Pradosh fast is observed on the Trayodashi date of Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha of every month. In this fast, worship of Bholenath in the evening has special significance. Pradosh fast in Pitru Paksha: Trayodashi tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month will start on 29th September at 04.47 pm and Pradosh fast will end on 30th September at 07.06 pm. Therefore, Ravi Pradosh fast will be observed on 29th September.
Worship method of Pradosh fast:
Wake up early in the morning on the day of Pradosh fast.
Wear clean clothes after bathing.
Meditate on Lord Shiva and take a pledge to fast.
Clean the temple.
Spread a red or yellow cloth on a small stool.
After this, install the idol of Shiva family on it.
Light a lamp in front of Lord Shiva and worship him duly.
After this start evening worship.
Offer all the puja materials including water, belpatra, aak flowers, datura, fruits etc. on Shivalinga.
During the puja, chant Shiva mantras and read or listen to the story of Som Pradosh Vrat.
At last perform Aarti of Shiva family along with all the Gods and Goddesses.
Ask for forgiveness for the mistake made during the puja.
After this, distribute the Prasad among the members present in the house.
