Shraddha Paksha 2024 : Shraddha Paksha is going on. This time Shraddha Paksha has started from Pratipada date on 18th September. Which will end on 02 October. In Pitru Paksha, on the date on which any ancestor of the family has died, Shraddha, Tarpan and Pind Daan are performed for the peace of the ancestors and attainment of salvation. It is believed that by doing this the ancestors are pleased and keep their blessings on the family members. Tomorrow is 24th September, Ashtami Tithi of Ashwin month. Those people whose family ancestor has died on Ashtami Tithi of any month can perform Tarpan and Shraddha of their ancestors on Shraddha Paksha Ashtami Tithi. During the Shraddha of ancestors, a feast is offered to Brahmins. Some things should be kept in mind while serving food to a Brahmin on the day of Shraddha. What kind of food should be prepared for Shraddha?
It is considered good to make Kheer-Puri for Brahmins on the day of Shraddha. It is believed that this satisfies the ancestors.
On the day of Shraddha of ancestors, you can prepare kheer-puri and vegetables and feed them to Brahmins.
Most of the food for Shraddha should be of the choice of the ancestors.
Prepare satvik food for Brahmin feast during Shraddha.
After the meal, bid farewell to the Brahmins respectfully by giving them donations and feeding them paan.
Do not include these things in the Shraddha food:
Urad dal, gram, lentils, sattu, radish, black cumin, cucumber, gourd, onion, garlic, big mustard, stale food etc. should not be included in the food for Shraddha.
